ACHIEVEMENT AND ACTIVITY OF THE POSTERITY OF HECTOR AND MINA WITTWER BUNKER 1984

The historical record of Hector and Mina Wittwer Bunker extends into the lives of their posterity. It is the desire of their children to pay them a fitting tribute for setting a pattern of life for us to follow. We recognize that they are not interested or would desire to be remembered by the honors of men or worldly fame but they are and forever will be interested in what we do with their names. It is our desire to have their names known for good throughout all of the generations of their posterity.

We honor them because of the deep and abiding faith they had in the Lord and because they devoted their lives to their family. They taught us the gospel of Jesus Christ by their example and by precept. They were most concerned that their family would become strong and valient servants of the Lord and honorable men and women among the children of men. They make their family their most important work. They were constantly planting seeds of faith which they wanted to mature into strong testimonies of the gospel of Jesus Christ. They wanted their children, their children’s children and all of the coming generations to be completely devoted to the truth and be ready and willing to serve the Lord in the creation of loving and caring families, in the activities and work of His Church, and in our employment and civic responsibilities.

They were desirous of having their children marry in the temple and raise unto them a righteous posterity. They are, no doubt, very pleased to know that they have a growing posterity who do love the Lord and are devoted to His work in many calls, responsibilities and activities. Now since we are commanded to honor father and mother, we can think of no greater honor or tri¬bute which we could give than to live as they would have us live and keep their faith alive through our efforts to serve the Lord and the community in which we live.

We submit the following evidence of what we are doing with their names and the start in life that they gave us. The follow¬ing is a partial collection of personal and family activities which we offer to indicate our love for them and our desire to build upon the heritage that they gave us. What we give is not given boastfully but with a hope that those who follow us will know the importance of the gospel to us and go and do likewise.
